Yesterday I received alpha version of WYSIWYG editor. It comes with only 1 skin(the ugly one) and not many things can be changed yet. We just share it to give the visitors the opportunity to take a look at the interface, click the buttons and get the idea how this gonna work. At the moment you can not add content to the pages cause text editor is under construction, but you can play around with site structure, see how to add new pages, links and menu items.

Installation proceedure is extremely easy, simply run the setup.exe file and follow the instructions.

To make the process of skin development much easier our flash developer created special architecture allowing to change the colors and forms of the pages and other design elements. This tool will allow us and other contributors to develop new flash layouts really fast.
What it means for the final customer? This means really much, coz the customer can get greate choice of flash templates and layouts which can be constantly updated.
Speaking about the updates of the layouts I want to share some secret information with the readers of our blog. Shortly we’re expecting to get new flash components for our engine. These components are
1. Papervision 3D free XML Gallery
2. Five 3D XML Image viewer
3. Free XML flv video player
One of the most important things that AuroraFlash offers is flexibility and scalability. Thats the reason why you may expect more unbelievable cool layouts compatible with our engine.
We have finished the design of the splash screen(click to view full size), it’s in Adobe style and looks a bit similar to Flash CS3. Also the license agreement is ready. We are in few steps from the release.

The desktop application for flash site management is almost ready. Things left to be done are main program splash screen, license agreement and updates notification system. Many of our visitors asks why we chose desktop application instead of web based flash CMS. We refused to create online CMS due tool to several reasons. One of them is that local tool makes you less Internet Dependent. You can keep your site on flash disk, update it at any time and synchronize with the existing website at any convenient occasion.
So lets take a closer look at the application itself.
Here is the 1st screen shot of the flash WYSIWYG editor and here in the left panel you can see your website and actually the changes you make. In the right panel you control global settings. Things like site title, copyright, slogan, main background image/animation, site logo and of course main design theme which you can change on the fly anytime! I want to draw your attention to this feature, you can change the look and feel of your website in a couple of seconds without the risk of data loss.
The next image demonstrates site structure and per page settngs. Here you can see that every node of the website can be either menu(containing submenus) item, or external/internal site link, or content page based on one of the layouts. This allows the site owner to create unlimited number of pages with flexible structure and configurable per page options.
Now we are in a few steps from final release, on Wednesday we hope to finish the Beta version. Things are getting better
